We ask that all residents take the same precautions as they would with the regular cold and seasonal flu such as by washing their hands frequently with soap and water and demonstrating proper cough etiquette.

Please wash your hands frequently and demonstrate proper cough etiquette.

When coughing or sneezing: cover your nose and mouth using a face mask, tissue, handkerchief, or the front of your elbow. DO NOT use your bare hands and REFRAIN from sneezing or coughing into the air.

Preventative measures for regular cold and flu

If you recently travelled to Hubei or Zhejiang Province, China, and are displaying symptoms of fever or cough, please contact the Chubu Health Centre (chūbu hoken sentā) immediately. Be sure to let the hospital or clinic know of your recent travel history.

If you display cold and flu symptoms such as coughing or sneezing, please retrain from going to crowded areas such as shopping centres, izakaya, or karaoke shops.
